Among the different protein and lipid levels attempted the
maximum mean body weight was recorded in 30% Protein and 6% Lipid, being (15.09 ± 0.02g) & (14.7 ± 0.02g) and showed the maximum survival rate (100±0.00 %). The treatments differed
significantly with control as well as with other treatments (p<0.05). Hence, it could be observed that the 30% protein and 6% lipid was the optimal requirement level for Pearl Spot fingerling to achieve
maximum growth and survival in brackish water cages. Further, the HDPE cages were tried in the experiment and found that Peral Spot fishes adopt well in such cages and grow better. Thus the
appropriate feed and the culture system for rearing Pearl Spot have been standardized through these trials which can be disseminated for the benefit of the fish farmers for adoption.
